Cervical leoplasty is really painful

There is usually slight pain during cervical LEEP surgery, but most patients can tolerate it. Local anesthesia will be used to reduce discomfort during surgery, and you may experience brief pain or swelling after surgery.

The pain level of cervical LEEP surgery varies from person to person. The operation uses high-frequency electrosurgery to remove cervical diseased tissue. The operation time is short. Local anesthetics such as lidocaine are injected during the operation, which can effectively block pain nerve conduction. Some people with sensitive constitutions may feel a brief sting during the anesthesia injection, and may experience a pulling or slight burning sensation during the resection. Distension in the lower abdomen, similar to dysmenorrhea, and blood-streaked vaginal discharge may occur within 2-3 days after surgery. These symptoms usually resolve gradually in 3-5 days.

A very small number of patients who are particularly sensitive to pain or have cervical inflammation may experience significant discomfort during the operation. If there are cervical adhesions, abnormal cervical position, etc., the difficulty of the surgical operation may increase, which may lead to increased pain. If severe abdominal pain, fever, or heavy bleeding occurs after surgery, you need to be alert to complications such as infection or wound bleeding.

The pain tolerance can be discussed with the doctor before surgery, and intravenous sedation can be combined if necessary. Avoid strenuous exercise, bathing and sex for 1-2 months after surgery, and keep the perineum clean and dry. When the pain is severe, you can use ibuprofen sustained-release capsules as directed by your doctor, but it is forbidden to use aspirin and other drugs that affect blood coagulation by yourself. Wound healing needs to be reviewed 1 week after surgery, and HPV and TCT must be reviewed 2 months later.
