Energy healing is a broad category, and all non-drug, non-invasive healing methods that focus on adjusting the subtle energy field of the human body fall within its scope. Reiki is just a specific genre within this broad category with a clear origin, fixed inheritance and operating specifications. It is essentially a relationship between inclusion and being included, and is not parallel at all.
Last week, a young girl who works in Internet operations came to me and said that she had been sold "energy healing" for 3,000 yuan for ten times in the beauty salon downstairs. She put pink quartz on her belly, played meditation music in her ears, and lay down for 45 minutes. Afterwards, her friend gave her She pushed a certified Usui Reiki master, and while he was doing it, his hand was suspended above her back. She felt waves of warmth running up her spine without even touching her skin. After it was over, her shoulders and neck, which had been blocked for half a month, felt loose. She was very confused. She said it was all energy healing, so why was it so different?
In fact, this is normal. The boundary of energy healing is very wide. The singing bowl tapping on the back, crystal formation, shamanic drum therapy, and even the Qi sensation that our old Chinese medicine practitioners adjust when inserting acupuncture. As long as the core is adjusting the flow of invisible energy, they can all be included in the basket of energy healing. There is no unified assessment standard and no fixed operation process. It all depends on the logic of specific subdivisions and the practical ability of the healer. It is common for good and bad people to be mixed.
Reiki is different. It is a healing system integrated by Mr. Usui Onao in Japan at the end of the 19th century. It has developed into several branches of Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki. However, no matter which branch, there is a fixed "initiation" inheritance process, as well as corresponding symbols and hand position specifications. Not just anyone can get started by reading two little red book tutorials. Oh, by the way, there is quite a bit of controversy in this industry. The old-school disciples insist that attunements must be completed face-to-face offline before the channel of spiritual energy can be truly opened. The emerging group believes that as long as the minds are on the same wavelength, the effect of remote attunements is not bad. Both sides have their own cases to support it, but they have not yet reached a conclusion.
To give an inappropriate analogy, if we compare energy healing to the entire domestic catering market, then Reiki is a Japanese ramen chain brand with a clear formula and inheritance system. Sichuan cuisine, Cantonese cuisine, hot pot, and roadside stall skewers all belong to the catering industry, but regular Japanese ramen has its own fixed soup cooking time, noodle hardness, and ingredient standards. It cannot be just boiled noodles and sprinkled with chopped green onion to call it authentic.
I usually use a combination of them when doing cases. If the client is sensitive, ticklish, and doesn't want to be touched, I will just use Reiki, and just hang my hand over the chakra to guide the energy. The whole process will be quiet, and at the end I will give her two suggestions for adjustment.; If the other person has just experienced the death of a loved one or a breakup, and her emotions are so stuck in her chest that she can’t cry out, I would first beat her with a singing bowl for ten minutes, and wait until her emotions are almost released before replenishing her spiritual energy. The effect will be much better.
Of course, I have to be honest. At present, mainstream academic circles have not been able to use instruments to accurately measure what the so-called "subtle energy" is. There are also many people who believe that whether it is Reiki or other energy healing, it is essentially a placebo effect. This part of the controversy has not yet been concluded. If you want to get in touch, read more real case feedback from healers. Don't pay tens of thousands of yuan in tuition or apply for a card worth hundreds of thousands. There is no harm in being rational. Anyway, for me, no matter it is called Reiki or some other energy healing method, it can help clients unwind the emotions that have been accumulated for a long time and enable them to sleep soundly at night, which is more effective than any other name.
