Pediatric massage effectively improves baby’s immunity

Reasons for poor immunity in babies

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main symptoms of babies' illnesses are exogenous diseases and internal injuries caused by diet. The common diseases are cold, fever, food accumulation, vomiting and diarrhea. The baby's innate development status plays a decisive role, but acquired nursing care is also very important.

“When healthy qi exists within the body, evil cannot be affected; where evil gathers, the qi will be deficient." During the nursing process, attention should be paid to preserving and replenishing righteous qi, so that evil qi will have no chance to invade the human body; or once external evil invades the human body, the righteous qi in the body will rise up to resist, and the external evil will be eliminated from the human body, and then the disease will not occur. Therefore, righteousness is very important to the human body and determines the occurrence, development and prognosis of diseases. Righteousness can be understood as what we often call "immunity" and "resistance."

To improve your baby's immunity, pediatric massage is a very simple and effective method. The following four methods are easy to master and can be learned by parents who do not understand medicine. As long as you work hard and stick to it, you will definitely see its magical effects!

3 massage techniques to effectively improve baby’s immunity

  1. Chiropractic

Spine refers to the spinal bones in the back. Form a straight line from the end of the tailbone to the Dazhui point on the neck (lower head, the highest vertebra at the junction of the neck and chest). The baby takes off his clothes and pants, lies down on the bed, and the parent stands or kneels behind the baby, with a smile on his face, his whole body relaxed, and gently touches the baby's entire back with his hands to relax his muscles, and then performs the operation.

  Specific methods:

Pinch the pads of the thumbs of both hands against the pads of the index and middle fingers. The index finger and middle finger are in front and the thumb is behind. Pinch the skin on the surface of the spinal bone. While twisting the index finger, middle finger backward and thumb forward, push the thumb forward. In this way, it will gradually advance upward from the bottom. From the tailbone to the big vertebrae, pinch repeatedly 3 to 5 times.

After pinching, the local skin will be slightly flushed. At this time, use the palm of your hand to gently rub up and down the baby's back 2 to 3 times to help the baby's back relax.

For health care, just do chiropractic once every other day. The most important thing is persistence. I have done comparative observations in many kindergartens. Children who insist on doing chiropractic have a lower incidence of common childhood diseases than children who do not do chiropractic.

Chiropractic can start from the time your baby is born. For babies who are receiving chiropractic treatment for the first time, the movements must be gentle. When pinching the muscles and lifting them up, do not lift them too hard to avoid the baby becoming afraid and unwilling to cooperate.

  2. Tap the Shu point on the back lightly

Sometimes, the chiropractic method is not easy to operate, or when the baby is unwilling to cooperate, you can use the method of tapping the Shu point on the back instead.

Beishu points are distributed on both sides of the spine on the back, 1.5 inches apart from the spine (3 inches from the inner edge of the scapula to the middle of the spine). The Qi of the five internal organs of the human body is infused into the Beishu point on the back and waist. Tapping on the Back Shu point can regulate the qi movement of the internal organs, and smoothing the qi movement will reduce the occurrence of diseases.

  Specific methods:

Use the fingertips of your index finger, middle finger, and ring finger to gently tap the Beishu point, from top to bottom, repeat 3 to 5 times, and do this on both sides.

After the operation, the skin on both sides of the spine will become slightly flushed. Use your palms to gently massage the area you just tapped 2 to 3 times to relax the skin.

  3. Massage Zusanli

Zusanli is located 3 inches below the outer knee and 1 finger (the thickness of the baby's middle finger) away from the anterior tibial crest (the highest part that can be touched from the front of the calf).

Acupoint selection method: Let the baby flex the knee joint, and you can feel two depressions at the lower end of the kneecap. The outer depression is called the outer knee eye. From there, the distance 4 finger widths downward is 3 inches below the outer knee eye. From the front crest of the tibia, the width of the baby's middle finger is Zusanli.

  Specific methods:

Use the thumb pads to massage Zusanli in a clockwise direction, 300 times each time, which can strengthen the spleen and stomach, replenish qi and blood, regulate qi and eliminate food.

It can also be started from Zusanli downward, along the line 1 horizontal finger apart from the anterior crest of the tibia, passing through the upper Juxu and lower Juxu in sequence, and push it to near the ankle, 30 times each time, which can regulate the gastrointestinal tract, induce stagnation and stop diarrhea.

Regular massage for your baby can not only promote blood circulation, but also enhance your baby's immunity. Parents who have time, don't forget to massage your baby!
