Let me tell you the truth first. There is no exclusive classification of drugs for "detoxification and intestinal cleansing" in clinical practice. The familiar "intestinal cleansing, defecation and intestinal detoxification" are mostly marketing concepts created by health care product merchants. If we really talk about taking drugs that can promote the discharge of intestinal contents, they are all conventional drugs used in clinical practice to relieve constipation and do intestinal preparation before endoscopy/surgery. There is no additional effect of so-called "detoxification".
I had a colonoscopy with an elder in my family a while ago. The doctor prescribed polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder. I mixed it with warm water and drank it in portions. It turned into a transparent clear water in a few hours. There was no obvious abdominal pain during the whole process. The doctor said that this is the safest intestinal cleansing agent at present. It is an isotonic preparation. This medicine will not disrupt the body's electrolyte balance. Many people have heard that drinking this medicine can cleanse the intestines. They buy it privately and drink it once a week to "detoxify". It is completely useless. This medicine is specially used for temporary use by people who are preparing for surgery or who have severe constipation. There is no need to consume it on a daily basis.
Some of my friends followed suit and bought Internet-famous enzyme plums and intestinal cleansing tea. I went to the toilet several times the same day after eating it. My stomach became a little flat and I thought it was detoxification. As a result, after taking it for half a year, I couldn’t pull it out at all if I didn’t eat it. When I went for a colonoscopy, I found that the entire intestinal mucosa was black, and I had melanosis, which the doctor said was the kind of disease that occurs after eating radish. Extremely aggressive "intestinal cleansing products" are most likely to be illegally added with stimulant laxatives such as senna and rhubarb. The effect is strong at first, but over time it will destroy the nerves in the intestinal wall. Originally, it can move normally, but in the end it has to be stimulated to work, and constipation becomes more and more serious, and there is even a risk of cancer.
Some people will also say, "I eat it once in a while, and my stomach is not bloated and I feel comfortable after eating it." In this case, if you occasionally eat too much and suffer from constipation for several days, it is okay to temporarily use an osmotic laxative such as lactulose. It pulls the water from the outside of the intestinal wall into the intestinal cavity to soften the stool. It has very little irritation and can be used by the elderly and children. However, if you regard this as a daily "detoxification routine", it is really not worth the gain. Some people regard probiotics as intestinal cleansing products. In fact, probiotics only regulate intestinal flora. If you have difficulty in defecation due to disordered flora, and your bowel movements become regular after taking it, it is a normal manifestation of the flora returning to a balanced state, and it has nothing to do with "detoxification". Don't add too many non-existent effects to it.
If you really want to make your intestines comfortable and have regular bowel movements, eat more high dietary fiber foods such as celery and dragon fruit, and walk for half an hour every day. It is much more reliable than spending a lot of money on various bowel cleansing medicines. The so-called "poison" really cannot be excreted by pulling.
