What does left varicocele mean?

Left varicocele is a common disease that mainly occurs in middle-aged people. Because middle-aged people sit or stand for long periods of time due to their daily work, the spermatic cord will be squeezed for a long time and form varicose veins. Varicocele refers to the edema of the skin and veins in the testicles, which causes testicular atrophy and sperm production, and can seriously lead to male infertility.

The incidence of varicocele accounts for 10% of young men aged 15 to 30 years. 90% of it occurs on the left side and is caused by blood stasis in the spermatic vein, causing the venous plexus to dilate, tortuous and lengthen. Varicocele can also be caused by kidney tumors. The reason why varicocele deserves attention is that it may be accompanied by testicular atrophy and sperm production impairment, leading to infertility.

Incidence

The dilation, bending, and lengthening of the spermatic pampiniform plexus is called varicocele. It is more common in young people, mostly between the ages of 15 and 30. Varicocele occurs mostly on the left side, about 78% to 93%, on the right side, with an incidence rate of 1% to 7%, and on both sides at the same time, about 2% to 20%.

The scrotum is swollen, aggravated by exertion, relieved by rest, fatigue, indigestion, pale and fat tongue, and slow pulse.

4. Cold stagnation and pouting Yin type

The scrotum is swollen, the testicles are throbbing, and the perineum is involved in the lower abdomen. The symptoms are aggravated by standing and relieved by lying down, soreness in the waist and knees, aversion to cold and cold limbs, a pale tongue with white coating, and a deep and thready pulse.

5. Liver Qi stagnation type

The scrotum is painful when it swells, and the veins are exposed, looking like earthworms. Most of them have emotional changes, the tongue is dark red, the coating is thin and white, and the pulse is stringy.

Reason for occurrence

1. The left internal spermatic vein is long and enters the renal vein at a right angle, and the blood flow is subject to certain resistance. The left internal spermatic vein near the left renal vein has no valve, so blood can easily flow backwards.

2． The left internal spermatic vein is located behind the sigmoid colon and is easily compressed by feces in the intestine, affecting blood return.

Cause

1. The temperature is too high and the heat dissipation is poor.

2. Congenital left spermatic vein vascular valve insufficiency.
