Color ultrasound can assist in the diagnosis of prostatitis, but it cannot be used as a basis for diagnosis. The diagnosis of prostatitis requires comprehensive judgment based on clinical symptoms, laboratory examinations and imaging examinations, including digital rectal examination, prostatic fluid examination, routine urine examination, color ultrasound examination, urinary flow rate examination and other methods.

1. Digital rectal examination

Digital rectal examination is an important examination method for prostatitis. The doctor touches the prostate with his fingers to determine its size, texture, tenderness and other conditions. The prostate of patients with acute prostatitis is usually enlarged and tender, while the prostate of patients with chronic prostatitis may be hard and have a rough surface. Digital rectal examination can also help identify diseases such as prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.

2. Prostatic fluid examination

Prostatic fluid examination is a key examination for diagnosing prostatitis. Prostatic fluid is obtained by massaging the prostate for microscopic examination and bacterial culture. Normal prostatic fluid has less than 10 white blood cells per high-power field, and lecithin bodies are evenly distributed. Patients with prostatitis have an increase in leukocytes and a decrease in lecithin bodies in the prostatic fluid. Bacterial prostatitis may also culture pathogenic bacteria.

3. Routine urine examination

Routine urine examination can help determine whether there is an infection in the urinary system. Patients with prostatitis may have an increase in white blood cells and an increase in the number of bacteria in their urine routine. Routine urine examination is simple and convenient and can be used as a preliminary screening method for prostatitis, but its specificity is not high and needs to be combined with other examination results for comprehensive judgment.

4. Color Doppler Ultrasound Examination

Color ultrasound examination can observe the size, shape, internal echo, etc. of the prostate. Color ultrasound of acute prostatitis may show prostate enlargement and uneven echo ； Chronic prostatitis may show prostate calcification and increased echogenicity. Color ultrasound can also detect complications such as prostate abscesses and cysts, but color ultrasound findings lack specificity and cannot be used alone as a basis for diagnosis.

5. Urinary flow rate examination

Urinary flow examination can evaluate the function of the lower urinary tract. Patients with prostatitis may show decreased urinary flow rate and prolonged urination time. Uroflow rate examination can help identify diseases such as prostatic hyperplasia and bladder outlet obstruction, but it cannot directly diagnose prostatitis and needs to be combined with other examination results for comprehensive judgment.

Patients with prostatitis should pay attention to maintaining a regular schedule and avoid bad habits such as sitting for long periods of time and holding in urine. Drink more water, eat less spicy food, quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption. Moderate exercise can help improve pelvic blood circulation, but strenuous exercise and activities that put pressure on the perineum, such as cycling, should be avoided. Maintain a good attitude, avoid excessive anxiety, follow the doctor's instructions for standardized treatment, and conduct regular reviews.
