Candida albicans balanitis, acute superficial balanitis, annular ulcerative balanitis, and trichomonal balanitis are all common.

Balanitis mainly has infectious and non-infectious factors, mainly bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Candida, Trichomonas, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, etc. Non-infectious factors include poor hygiene, friction and trauma, urine, alkaline substances and external stimulation.

Candida albicans balanitis: erythema appears on the foreskin and glans, with smooth surface, scaling, surrounding scaling, and small papules or pustules. Edema, erythema, erosion, and exudate appear in the acute phase.

Acute superficial balanitis: At the beginning, the local skin flushes, and the glans has itching and burning sensation. In the acute phase, the glans manifests as edematous erythema, erosion, exudation, bleeding, and even blisters.

Annular ulcerative balanitis: erythema appears on the glans penis, gradually enlarges, becomes annular or multi-annular, and forms a shallow ulcer.

Trichomonal balanitis: Papules and erythema appear on the glans, usually with itching. Small blisters the size of a pinhead can be seen on the erythema, and the blisters will merge with each other to form an erosion surface.
