The function of massaging Zhongwan acupoint
Alias: Shangji point, Weiwan point, Dacang point, Taicang point, Stomach tube point, Sangui point, Zhongguan point, Zhongwan point.
Acupoint meaning: The ground water of Ren Vessel flows downward from here.
Explanation of name: (1) Zhongwan. Zhong means that this point is in the middle relative to the Shangwan and Xiawan points. Wan, cavity. The name of this point means that the water from the ground where there are veins flows downward from there. The substance of this point is the descending meridional water from the upper meridian of Ren meridian. After reaching this point, the meridian water continues to flow downward, such as flowing into the huge cavity in the lower part of Ren meridian, hence its name. The names of Zhongguan and Zhongwan have the same meaning as Zhongwan, and the bowl is connected to Wan.
(2) Shang Ji. On, the upper part also. Ji means discipline. The name means that this point has the general effect of grasping the Qi and blood on the chest, abdomen and body surface. The substance of this point is the meridional water that descends from the upper part of the chest and abdomen. It first gathers and then descends. The qi and blood of this point is the water of the earth meridian, which is warm in nature and has the same nature as the qi and blood of the stomach meridian. It can directly regulate the deficiency and excess of yin and yang of the qi and blood of the stomach, so it is called the stomach cavity. The name and meaning of the gastric tube are the same as the epigastrium, meaning the tube leads to the epigastrium.
(4) Okura. Big, opposite to small, is big. Cang, warehouse also. The name Okura means that this point is a large warehouse where water from the ground gathers. The reason is the same as Zhongwan’s name. The name Taicang has the same meaning as Okura.
(5)Three tubes. Third, it refers to the three meridians of the small intestine meridian of the hand Taiyang, the triple burner meridian of the hand Shaoyang, and the stomach meridian of the foot Yangming. Tube, hole. The name of the three tubes means that the cold water from the three meridians of Hand, Taiyang, Hand, Shaoyang, Foot and Yangming all gathers and flows down from this point.

The material of this point is earth meridian water, which comes not only from the cold precipitation water in the upper meridian of Ren meridian, but also from the cold precipitation liquid in the three meridians of Hand Taiyang, Hand Shaoyang and Foot Yangming, so it is the meeting point of Hand Taiyang, Hand Shaoyang and Foot Yangming Ren meridian.
